What is a Giclée print?

Giclée is a neologism coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printer. The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on a modified Iris printer in a process invented in the late 1980s. It has since been used loosely to mean any fine-art printing, usually archival, printed by inkjet. It is often used by artists, galleries, and print shops to suggest high quality printing, but is an unregulated word with no associated warranty of quality. - Wikipidea

How does Ilona make her prints?

  • Quality is most important to me when making Limited Edition Prints of my work. For smaller prints we use Fine Art Watercolor Paper 190 gsm / 51 lb, with just enough texture so you can see all the fine details of the work.

  • For larger custom prints we use Hahnemuhle Paper 310gms / 68lb, which adds more weight to the print and keeps it sturdy. For custom orders and production time is 3-5 business days.

  • We can also print your image onto canvas, if you do not see this option listed, please email us for a quote.

Does Ilona do commissioned artwork?

Yes, Ilona does commissions whenever she has time in between her exhibitions. There is a waiting list for commissions, so please email us to get on the waiting list.

I have a question and I can find the answer, what do I do?
